David and Steven Beer, 209 College Avenue

Once again called the Grand View House, 209 College Avenue was built as a student boarding house in 1888. This Collegetown landmark was in decrepit condition when purchased by Steven and David Beer in 1999. Extensive structural and cosmetic work were done throughout the interior. Outside, the foundation was restored, porches were repaired, siding and trim were replaced with carefully crafted reproductions, and a large addition with matching Mansard roof to blend with the original building was constructed at the rear of the original structure.
